Seems like A$AP Rocky got it right, casting Rihanna as the lead for the visual of his latest single “Fashion Killa” as her love affair with the fashion industry becomes increasingly more prevalent. The 25-year-old pop icon designs a unique collection of garments for River Island, executive producer of the hit television series “Styled to Rock” and not to mention her expansive collection of fashion-esque photos which grace her Instagram almost daily. Flaunting her remarkable collection of designer threads and envious-generating voyages all across the fashion world.

With an apparent yearning for fashion, it’s safe to say that fashion has an affinity for her. Case in point, her latest gig as the new face of Balmain.

Olivier Rousteing, Balmain’s creative director, says that working with RiRi was “a dream come true” and that the Barbadian bombshell is modern, fresh and declared her as the “icon” of his generation. “When the woman that inspires you to wears your own creations, your vision feels complete.” Rousteing told WWD.”Rihanna embodies my vision of Balmain in this new campaign,”

Rousteing said. “In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world.” Rihanna and the witty fashion designer, have  been very open about their friendship and admiration for each other and their work. Which is why this news comes as no surprise.

Shot in international fashion capital, New York City last month by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, RiRi, who was styled by her very own personal stylist Mel Ottenberg for the project looks stunning and HOT! One ad shows the “What Now” singer dressed in a pink-and-white Kimono style coat accented with white lace gold-toed and heeled booties, while the other is an vintage Cruella Deville-inspired coat delicately draped over her in perfect form, complete with a black and gold dusted waist belt.

Rihanna is the second music star to score a major spring 2014 fashion campaign, after Givenchy announced that Erykah Badu would be the face of their new ads. Tell the supermodels to move over, there are new bodies in town; and they’re BANGIN’!
